When’s the last time your were truly transformed by art?
For me, it was a month ago, in St. Ives, Cornwall.
I was on pilgrimage - a personal project (I’ll tell you more about later) - and St. Ives was a side trip to see Tate St. Ives, and two sculptors - American sculptor and painter, Liliane Lijn, and the studio, gallery and garden of the late Dame Barbara Hepworth.
This small town on the coast of southwest England is a powerful place, and the work I saw took me back in history, and forward into my imagination.
I saw how women have struggled to create the lives they love as artists - and also give that power to others. I felt it.
And I realized that I’m so drawn to this because this is what I do, too. Coaching is a transformative act. Artmaking is an act of self-creation.
I want to share what I’ve learned - and offer these ideas to you in a new workshop I’m teaching on August 22nd - where I’ll share what happened to me - and how I’m creating this artist’s life - and how you can, too.
